Games entrepreneur Rachel Lowe has provided an opportunity for Portsmouth businesses to be part of a board game celebrating 100 years of Portsmouth’s city status.

Rachel Lowe MBE, creator of the Destination Board Game series, has created a special centenary edition of Destination Portsmouth to celebrate Portsmouth’s 100th anniversary since being granted city status in 1926. The project will support Cash for Kids South Coast, a charity dedicated to helping children living in poverty across our region.

The exclusive Destination Portsmouth100 takes players on a journey through time and will feature 100 historical landmarks, independent businesses and cultural locations spanning a full century of Portsmouth’s history from 1926 to 2026. Some of the historical destinations featured will include Chapman’s Laundry, the McMurdo Factory, Hilsea Gas Works, The Odeon Cinema, Victoria Swimming Baths, The Tricorn Centre and U-Need-Us, while Portsmouth’s nightlife will be celebrated through destinations including Mecca Locarno, The Birdcage, 5th Avenue and The Cambridge.

“Portsmouth is where the Destination story began, so creating a centenary edition of the game to celebrate 100 years of Portsmouth’s city status feels like a full-circle moment,” said Rachel. “I’d encourage anyone who loves this city to get involved. I’ve been working with Cash for Kids for several years, and it is a charity very close to my heart. I’m proud to have created an opportunity to raise funds that will directly benefit children in Portsmouth.”
